Amalfi Hotel - Chicago

I find it hard to keep up with blogs on the weekend with getting out and about with the boy so here's one of my old draft posts from our honeymoon - yes another one from Chicago. One of the best things about your honeymoon is that you can afford yourself the excuse of having a nicer hotel then you normal would for any other holiday. Because Chicago is so huge there's so many different hotels you could pick for a magnitude of different price ranges. We just wanted somewhere that was a little special, within walking distance of public transport [Chicago is a haven for public transport] and near enough to restaurants and shops.  Out of our tourist guide book, The Amalfi came out on top. Unlike British hotels wifi seem to come as standard in most hotels but what really grabbed us was the free breakfast and free cocktails - yum! Not only that but the bed was huge, the shower had multiple heads, there was free Aveda products and a huge window (shame about the lack of a view) but the lit up buildings around us at night were stunning.

i just read your LDR section - its really inspiring! i live in guildford, surrey usually but go to uni in south wales, while my boyfriend stays at home. I have another year and a half until I can move back permenantly and the LDR 'ends' by us reuniting, and sometimes it gets hard! Its great that you've done so well being so far away from your beau :)

    1. Yeah they can be really hard and there were times when I never thought we'd ever make it and get this far. Now I just feel so lucky being able to wake up every day knowing he's coming home to our apartment. I remember there were times when I use to cry myself to sleep thinking that would never happen and it just feels like a dream come true.
